In honor of Memorial Day, Ōnin Staffing’s Lebanon office sponsored an event to raise money for the charity group A Soldier’s Child (ASC).

The Lebanon office grilled food, served sides, and hosted the event to raise money for the children of fallen soldiers. In total, Ōnin raised $1,500 for ASC.

ASC offers care and compassion to the children of deceased soldiers while honoring the memory of the fallen. The money Ōnin helped raise will help fund children’s birthday presents, sponsor mentorship programs and provide scholarships.

The event was attended by First Sergeant Ronald W. Langford. “[He] gave a very moving speech about his 23 years in the military and the soldiers that he has lost. He did a terrific job honoring their memory,” said Terri Langford, Branch Manager of Ōnin Staffing’s Lebanon branch.

The Ōnin team also created a memory wall for everyone to write messages about their fallen loved ones. In addition, the Oakland High School ROTC posted the colors, and the event was attended by some of the spouses and children of lost soldiers.

“It was such a great experience getting to meet first-hand the children that I was raising money for,” said Langford.
