Birmingham, Alabama, March 15, 2021 —The Ōnin Group, a Birmingham-based group of companies focused primarily on staffing, has been recognized as the  Grand Prize Winner of the Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) 2021 Best Place to Work For award.

The Best Staffing Firms to Work For awards are given annually by SIA, the global advisor on staffing and workforce solutions, and recognize employers for their top performance in engaging their employees and creating a workplace conducive to talent development, enjoyment, collaboration and productivity.

“For years, being a best place to work called to mind work-day happy hours and flip flops — things that are ultimately a little frivolous,” said Jim Weaver, COO of The Ōnin Group. “We’re a best place to work because we have a deep sense of shared mission and purpose. Ōnin is here to help people of all walks of life achieve something. Work perks are great, but they cannot outpace the value of having a meaningful job.”

That said, The Ōnin Group offers competitive employee rewards. Both Ōnin’s internal employees and its contingent workers have access to comprehensive benefits that include health, dental and vision insurance, as well as life insurance and mental health counseling programs. Internal employees also have access to a leadership development program to help each employee discover and nurture their full potential.

“As a company and team, we are always striving to be better,” said Christina Johnson, Director of People & Culture at The Ōnin Group. “People produce the best results when they have all the tools they and their families need to develop their health, wealth, work and home. When you help employees transform into the best versions of themselves, they will transform not only your workplace, but the communities they work in at large.”

Close to 250 firms sought participation in the program this year, which was conducted by SIA in conjunction with Quantum Workplace. Internal employees at each firm were asked to complete an online survey that measured key engagement categories, focusing on items including teamwork, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, manager effectiveness, compensation and benefits. In order to gather statistically sound results, participating companies must have reached a minimum level of participation. Companies were ranked in each category according to their overall score. Winners were chosen based entirely on the survey results.

Ōnin’s culture has likewise been recognized by the Birmingham Business Journal as a 2020 Best Place to Work.

The Ōnin Group is a Birmingham-based, privately-held group of companies focused on people. Its staffing companies include Ōnin Staffing, Excelsior Staffing, A3 Solutions and Fōcus. Non-staffing ventures include Mōmentum Capital Funding, Woodhaven Custom Calls, Ōnin Properties and Pleasant Hill Timber. The Ōnin Group has been ranked by the SIA as one of the Largest Staffing Firms in the U.S. and Largest Industrial Staffing Firms in the U.S.
