Mercedes-Benz Vans and The Ōnin Group know the value of hiring and retaining the best talent and the value of YOUR HARD WORK, which is why we proposed and received approval for wage increases for Ōnin Teammates at MBV! We also know the value of your time, so the more time you spend with us at MBV, the more money you’ll make with our new wage progression.

Thank you for being an integral part of our team at Mercedes-Benz Vans, and congratulations on your pay increase! You earned it!

Here’s How The New Wage Increase And Progressions Work

When it Starts: Effective August 15, 2021 (for pay date August 27, 2021)

How it Works: The starting and base wage rate will be $16.50 and will increase every 90 days up to 270 days of service. Second and third shifts will continue to receive $1.00 per hour in shift premium. Wage progression increases will apply to hours worked beginning the Sunday following eligibility. Every current Teammate will be grandfathered in based on their original hire date with Ōnin.

Length of Service Base/Starting Rate 1st Shift 2nd & 3rd Shifts
Starting (0-89 days) $16.50 $16.50 $17.50
90 -179 Days $16.75 $16.75 $17.75
180 - 269 Days $17.00 $17.00 $18.00
270+ Days $17.25 $17.25 $18.25

Give Me An Example Of How This Works

Example 1: John Doe has been an Ōnin Teammate at MBV for 91 days on Friday, August 20, 2021. John works 1st shift. He works 40 hours for the week, Monday, August 23 through Friday, August 27. John will receive his paycheck on Friday, September 3rd, and will see his pay increase on this check at $16.75 per hour for the 40 hours worked.

Example 2: Jane Doe has been an Ōnin Teammate at MBV for 290 days as of Sunday, August 15th. She works 2nd shift and works 40 hours for the week Monday, August 16th through Friday, August 20th. Jane will receive her paycheck on Friday, August 27th, and will see her pay increase on this check at $18.25 per hour for the 40 hours worked.

What Else Should I Know About The New Wage Changes?

We do not have the ability to change pay rates in the middle of the workweek, so they will always take effect the first workday of the week after you meet eligibility requirements.
